Job summary

Acuren in Lima, OH is seeking a Visual Inspector with API 510/570 to perform on-site visual and non-destructive examinations of pressure-retaining equipment and to document conditions in technically accurate reports.

You will apply API/ASME standards, provide technical recommendations for repair or alteration, and collaborate with client engineers while complying with safety programs; occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Certification of American Petroleum Institute Standards 510/570.
• 5-10 years' experience or 2+ years on site experience.
• Additional API 653 or CWI a plus.
• In-depth working knowledge of API 510/570 and ASME standards.
• Experience supporting petrochemical facility engineers.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and non-destructive examination of pressure retaining equipment on-site in accordance with API and ASME standards.
• Submit technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition.
• Provide technical recommendations for repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment.
• Provide technical input on welding and metallurgical issues.
• Provide guidance on non-destructive examination techniques and procedures.
• Comply with all safety practices and participate in site safety initiatives.
• Willingness to travel if needed.
