Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking an Accounting Specialist to perform major accounting functions and payroll processing under supervision. The role involves managing property tax records, assisting with budgets, and handling cash and journal entries on-site at the community.

The successful candidate will review payroll data, timecards, and attendance, input pay data, issue payroll and reconcile related general ledger accounts, while maintaining coordination with residents, vendors and staff.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in business administration or graduation from high school supplemented by college level courses in accounting or business administration and some experience in general ledger record keeping or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviews payroll data entry of timecards, labor sheets and special entries.
• Reviews time and attendance system data and communicates with employees and supervisors regarding exceptions.
• Prepares and inputs pay data and adjustments. Prepare prepaid vacations. Distributes payroll and reconciles payroll-related accounts.
• Reconciles statements and prepares cash disbursements for payroll and union benefits.
