Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking an Accounting Associate to maintain accounting records and generate timely reports per GAAP. The role covers general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and weekly payroll support in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate will assist in month-end closings, maintain payroll files, and support corporate requests, with emphasis on accuracy and confidentiality. Prior accounting exposure and MS Excel proficiency are favored.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to high school diploma is required.
• 1+ year of experience in accounting or business office with GL, payroll, or AP exposure.
• Solid working knowledge of accounting procedures.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Post entries to the general ledger and balance accounts.
• Process accounts payable transactions including batch payments.
• Post, audit, and collect accounts receivable with adjustments as needed.
• Support weekly payroll processing.
• Assist in month-end closings for the plant."
• Maintain accounting and payroll files per policy.
• Provide general admin support and document organization.
• Respond to corporate requests and ensure timely submissions.
