Job summary

Acme Lock & Door – A Cobalt Service Partners Company in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Junior Project Manager to turn sold access control, door, and locksmithing work into well‑scheduled, well‑documented field execution. You will support handoffs from sales to the field, coordinate scheduling, and help manage costs and margins.

You will ensure materials move efficiently to keep jobs on track, while maintaining clear client communication and accurate project records.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in project management or project coordination, or hands-on in locksmithing/door & hardware roles.
• Knowledge of commercial doors, frames, locks, and access-control hardware.
• Experience with project billing, job costing, or labor forecasting is a plus.
• Ability to read or learn architectural drawings, specifications, and hardware schedules.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced service environment.
• Willingness to drive locally and visit job sites.
• Proficiency with standard business, scheduling, and project-documentation software.
• Certifications in PM, door-and-hardware, locksmithing, or access-control are a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Project handoff support: coordinate transition of sold projects from sales to the field, validating scope, schedule, and cost.
• Technician scheduling: align field schedules with project timelines and priorities.
• Cost and margin tracking: monitor project costs, labor hours, and inventory; flag variances early.
• Customer communication: provide timely updates on project status and coordinate with the Installation Manager on larger issues.
• Material and inventory coordination: assist with ordering, tracking, and costing project materials.
• Documentation and process support: maintain organized project docs and suggest process improvements.
• Field exposure: conduct periodic job-site visits to gain hands-on project experience.
