Job summary

Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ seeks a Mashgiach for a 90-day engagement at a senior living community with a fully kosher operation. The role requires on-floor Kashrut oversight, supervision of meat/dairy separation, and adherence to Sabbath observance.

Responsibilities include supervising procurement, production, service, and record-keeping, with training in place and a rabbi of record. Prior mashgiach experience is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• Fluency in kashrut law and practice; certification preferred but not required.
• Experience in or around food production or service operations is desirable.
• Ability to pass a standard background check and provide references.
• English reading/writing for staff, management, and rabbi of record.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all incoming food and supplies against vendor standards.
• Be on the kitchen floor during meal preparation to ensure kashrut compliance.
• Monitor plating, service, and dining for kosher standards.
• Maintain required logs and documentation for the program.
• Support culinary and hospitality teams with daily Kashrut practice.
