Job summary

Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center in Falls Village, CT, seeks a Mashgiach to ensure Kashrut in a certified kosher kitchen and food services. The role requires flexible hours, including nights, holidays, and weekends, with possible housing.

You will oversee meat/dairy separation, Shabbat observance, and Passover preparations while training staff and maintaining kosher policies. Ideal candidates are halachically observant, hold ServeSafe certification, and have kitchen experience plus

Qualifications

• Candidate must be halachically observant with working knowledge of hilchot kashrut, Shabbat, and eruvin.
• Must obtain a ServeSafe Food Handler’s Certification.
• Experience working in a kitchen and ability to lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Kashrut compliance in kitchen and dining areas.
• Oversee proper usage of kitchen on Shabbat and Jewish holidays.
• Re-koshering items when necessary and possible.
• Manage access to meat and dairy cabinets and lock/unlock procedures.
• Train staff on Kashrut rules and update kosher policies.
