HP IQ, HP’s AI innovation lab, seeks an intern to contribute to on-device AI through model inference optimization, orchestration, and fine-tuning. You’ll work with seasoned engineers to ship features powering next-generation HP devices and gain insight into end-to-end AI systems.

Seeking a CS/Engineering student with ML or systems coursework, strong communication, and teamwork. This internship provides mentorship and hands-on experience in a fast-paced, human-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with ML/systems coursework or project experience.
• Strong ability to explain technical goals, outcomes, challenges, and decisions clearly.
• Familiarity with model inference/optimization, orchestration, or tuning, with project/open-source work valued.
• Collaborative, ownership-driven, able to work in cross-functional teams and handle ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to model hosting, inference optimization, and latency reduction on resource-constrained devices.
• Assist with orchestration/agent workflows and integrate multiple models and agents.
• Support model customization, fine-tuning, and evaluation for target tasks.
• Collaborate with software, design, and product teams and communicate progress clearly.
• Contribute to open-source projects or internal libraries related to inference, orchestration, or training.
