Job summary

Magellan Health is seeking a Military and Family Life Counselor (ARC) for short-term assignments or on-demand coverage across DoD installations during the May–Sept window. The role provides non-medical, brief, solution-focused counseling to adults, children, and youth of service members, with activities including training, health and wellness presentations, and referrals.

Candidates should hold a Master’s in Behavioral Health or Social Work, be fluent in English, and be capable of rapid rapport,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in behavioral health or social work is required.
• Ability to accept assignments of varying length including weekends.
• Experience working in a school setting is preferred for CYB roles.
• Ability to engage military members, spouses, and children quickly and confidentially.
• Must be fluent in English and able to obtain required immunizations per site.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical, short-term, solution-focused counseling to adults, children, and youth of service members.
• Deliver training, health and wellness presentations, and parent guidance.
• Enter counselor activity data daily and maintain confidentiality.
• Coordinate with POC and installation staff to ensure services meet needs.
• Respond to critical incidents and participate in supervision and contract activities.
