Job summary

Lansing Community College is hiring a Student Employee for the Center for Academic and Career Pathways at the Downtown Campus. The role supports Academic Advising, Career & Employment Services, and Academic Success Coaches with front-desk tasks, calls, scheduling, and basic office duties.

The position is a pooled role for the 2026–2027 year, with up to 25 hours weekly, on-campus presence required, and a non-bargaining, student-employee status. A background check may be required.

Qualifications

• Enrolled and actively attending the following total LCC credit hours by semester
• 2.00 GPA minimum (unless it’s student's first semester of enrollment at LCC and/or granted approval to waive requirement)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Actively pursuing a certificate, associates, or undergraduate degree at Lansing Community College
• Note: International students must meet minimum enrollment requirements each semester to maintain employment eligibility

Responsibilities

• Providing exceptional customer service both on the phone and in-person
• Scheduling academic advising and career advising appointments
• Providing general clerical support for the CACP including filing, copying, shredding, restocking supplies, sorting mail, and other tasks
• Assisting with department sponsored events and activities including workshops, job fairs, and other campus events
• Working independently and cooperatively in a team-centered environment, balancing multiple priorities on a continuing basis
