Middlesex Community College seeks a Senior Systems Administrator (On-Campus) to lead design, deployment, and optimization of enterprise IT platforms. This role focuses on Windows/Linux systems, virtualization, identity management, security, and cross-department collaborations to deliver reliable services for students and staff.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of enterprise IT experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work on-site in Lowell, MA with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in IT or related field required; higher degree preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years in enterprise systems and infrastructure.
• Strong problem-solving and remediation planning abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with teams.

Responsibilities

• Optimize, reconfigure, and maintain existing systems with minimal disruption.
• Manage core infrastructure services and virtualization (VDI, Windows/Linux).
• Administer VMware (vCenter/ESXi) and identity management components (MIM/Entra ID).
• Manage web servers (IIS/Tomcat), load balancers, and secure file transfer solutions.
• Coordinate with network engineers for campus-wide connectivity and network services.
• Design and implement new technologies, integrations, and platform updates.
• Develop operational documentation and knowledge base articles for IT staff.
• Provide expert escalation support and maintain a strong service culture.
