Job summary

St. Michael’s Catholic Preparatory School in Austin, TX seeks an Accountant to join the Business Office on a full-time, 12-month on-campus basis. The role supports accounting functions, journal entries, reconciliations, payroll processing, and other administrative duties.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in accounting/finance, knowledge of GAAP, and strong Excel skills. Experience with Blackbaud FENXT and Paylocity is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years in accounting/finance; nonprofit experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Advanced facility with technology; Excel proficiency essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepares general ledger entries for accounts receivable, payroll and withholding.
• Performs monthly reconciliations for payroll and withholding accounts.
• Handles monthly incidental student billing and semi-monthly payroll.
• Reviews monthly purchasing card program and assists with month-end close.
• Assists with year-end audit and audit documentation.
• Ensures accuracy of tax reports submitted by payroll provider.
