LHH seeks a Staff Accountant in Austin, TX to join a growing finance team. Responsibilities include daily accounting operations, reconciliations, and assisting with month-end close in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, 2+ years of experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with ERP systems and Excel. Local candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries with accuracy.

• Assist with financial reporting and management reporting.
• Prepare audit schedules and support audits.

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, maintaining financial records, preparing reconciliations, and assisting with month-end close activities. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting documentation.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed.
• Support financial reporting and management reporting requirements.
• Prepare audit schedules and provide support during internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP/accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
• Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation.
• Knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
