Job summary

San Diego State University seeks a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care within SDSU Student Health Services on campus in San Diego, CA. The role includes triage, treatment, patient education, and care coordination following established protocols.

You will collaborate with physicians, NPs and a multidisciplinary team, delivering immunizations, specimen collection and wound care while ensuring HIPAA compliance and accurate EHR documentation.

Qualifications

• Nurse must hold CA RN license and CPR/AED certification.
• Experience in triage and urgent care.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations and maintain patient privacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide triage and assess patients using established protocols.
• Staff the Nurse Clinic with assessment, treatment, follow-up and education for common concerns.
• Develop and evaluate individualized nursing care plans and educate patients.
• Respond to emergent situations with accuracy and professionalism.
• Perform clinical procedures including medications, immunizations, specimen collection, wound care, splinting, casting, ECGs.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EHR while protecting privacy.
• Support SHS operations through training, policy development and process improvement.
