Job summary

San Diego State University is seeking a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive primary care for SDSU students on campus. Under supervision, you will assess, diagnose, treat, and educate patients while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and utilizing on-site SHS resources.

Key responsibilities include conducting patient evaluations, ordering tests, performing procedures, and offering preventive care and counseling.

Qualifications

• Academic degree or certificate from an approved Nurse Practitioner program.
• BRN Nurse Practitioner certification and RN license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions.
• Order and interpret labs and imaging; perform procedures; dispense medications and provide preventive care.
• Assess basic mental health needs and coordinate referrals or medication management as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians and other health professionals to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records and comply with HIPAA, FERPA, and university policies.
