Job summary

Rochester Institute of Technology is seeking a Project Coordinator to manage Tier 1 construction and renovation projects on campus. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing routine improvements while overseeing budgets, schedules, quality, and contractor performance.

Under supervision, you will obtain contractor estimates, coordinate vendors, and ensure safety and timely project completion within budget. Opportunities may arise to assist with higher-tier projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in related field.
• 1 year of relevant experience.
• Equivalent combination of experience & education may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Participates in meetings with project requestors to establish scope, job schedules, priorities, and timeline.
• Assists in the review and approval of contract plans and specifications for compliance with appropriate building codes and project requirements.
• Attends pre-construction meetings and assists with the review of contract bidding documents.
• Supports project budget management by researching and providing cost estimates for labor, materials and equipment.
• Receives pay requests from contractors and approves for payment.
• Performs work on projects and assists in monitoring project progress.
• Ensures procedures and materials comply with specifications.
• Tracks construction processes using appropriate software.
• Other duties as assigned.
