Job summary

Georgia State University’s Perimeter College Newton Campus seeks a dedicated Laboratory Coordinator to lead lab operations and support instructional activities. This full-time on-campus role requires ensuring safety, supervising staff, procuring supplies, and maintaining equipment for effective teaching.

The coordinator will prepare laboratories for classes, collaborate with faculty, manage student workers, and maintain records.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in the assigned research area or Bachelor's with two years of related experience, or an education/experience combination.
• Experience with setting up, maintaining and using laboratory equipment.
• Ability to lift or move equipment in the lab.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and proper lab practices.
• College teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to three laboratory courses per semester and provide instructional coverage as needed.
• Order, prepare, and maintain laboratory supplies and equipment; recruit and supervise student assistants.
• Maintain laboratory facilities and ensure safety standards; coordinate equipment maintenance and storage.
• Coordinate procurement and maintain logs; obtain vendor quotations; secure approvals.
• Serve as primary contact for part-time instructors, onboarding and ongoing support.
