Job summary

College of Applied Health Sciences at the University of Illinois is seeking an HR Generalist to manage a variety of human resources activities and assist with complex HR issues, escalating as needed. This on-campus position supports appointments, payroll, compliance, recruitment, and policy administration within a Civil Service framework.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of related experience or coursework; familiarity with Microsoft Office is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of related HR/payroll or general office support duties or coursework.

Responsibilities

• Appointments management: manage employee appointments, data entry, and reporting with accuracy.
• Payroll & time reporting: process payroll and timesheets, handle leave and pay adjustments.
• Admin/Support: act as HR point of contact for calls, visits, and emails; monitor HR inbox.
• HR Compliance & Policy: ensure adherence to HR policies and legal requirements; training and reviews.
• Recruitment and Talent Acquisition: coordinate search, hiring, onboarding processes, communicate with applicants and new hires.
