Job summary

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, College of ACES, seeks an HR Generalist to manage HR activities and assist with complex issues, escalating as needed. The role covers compliance, payroll, appointments, and leave management.

The Civil Service 5020 position is full-time, with a salary range of $50,000 to $62,000, and benefits including health, dental, vision, retirement, PTO, and tuition waivers for employees and dependents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Administration or closely related field.
• Two (2) years of professional HR experience required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• HR Compliance & Policy: ensure adherence to HR policies and legal requirements through tracking, training, and internal reviews.
• Payroll & Time Reporting: process payroll and timesheets, handle complex issues and communicate regulations to staff.
• Appointments Management: manage employee appointments, input data, generate reports, and resolve discrepancies.
• Leave Management: administer and track FMLA and other leaves; counsel staff on leave policies.
