Job summary

Georgetown University in Washington, DC seeks a full-time facilities worker to support academic, social, and cultural events. You will perform cleaning, deliveries, moving furniture, and set-ups/break-downs of equipment, with duties including occasional carpentry, painting, snow removal, and floor care as needed.

This is designated Emergency Employee and requires reporting to work regardless of weather. Work may involve outdoor spaces and indoor areas across seasons; you must lift up to 50

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Prefer one year of custodial work experience and event set up.
• Driver’s license from Maryland, DC, or Virginia; must conform to Driving Policy.
• Able to read product label instructions and University policies.
• Teamwork and the ability to work independently.
• Emergency position requiring reporting to work during inclement weather.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull equipment up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, deliveries, moving furniture, and set-ups of equipment.
• Break downs of equipment such as tables, chairs, podiums, stages and coat racks.
• Occasional carpentry, painting, snow and ice removal, and related custodial tasks.
• Ensure work complies with safety regulations and wear uniform with university ID.
