Job summary

The New School's Composition Area, within the Mannes School of Music, seeks a highly motivated student to serve as Composition Area, Student Assistant. This on-campus role supports rehearsals, scheduling, and department activities, offering exposure to classical music administration and event coordination.

Ideal for students pursuing a career in composition or classical music, with opportunities to coordinate with the Production Office, Library, and Chairs.

Qualifications

• Current student in the Composition area (BM, MM, or PDPL in Composition).
• Previous administrative experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with rehearsals and scheduling of Composition Department activities.
• Liaise and coordinate with the College of Performing Arts Production Office and Library as needed.
• Assist in the coordination and promotion of activities related to the Composers Collective.
• Assist with Departmental activities in coordination with the Chair and as assigned by the Program & Administration Manager.
• Additional duties as assigned.
