Job summary

Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin is seeking an On-Call Victim Advocate to provide direct services to sexual assault victims, including crisis counseling, advocacy, and support. The role includes an after-hours hotline and in-person crisis response on nights, weekends, and holidays.

The advocate delivers culturally competent, strength-based, client-directed services and coordinates with leadership to ensure appropriate offerings for victims and their families.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma.
• Minimum Experience: 0-1 years of experience in social services.
• Preferred Experience: 1-3 years of experience with sexual assault survivors or similar experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid Wisconsin Driver's License with reliable personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide advocacy, support, information, and referrals to sexual assault victims and families, via phone and in-person.
• Provide options for reporting and accompany victims during law enforcement interviews and forensic evidence collection at hospitals.
• Document all client activity and report to Program Supervisor by the next business day.
• Assist with community outreach and prevention education as needed.
• Inform victims about legal systems, Crime Victim's Compensation, and victims' rights.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
