Job summary

Prisma Health in Greenville Memorial Hospital seeks a Surgical Technologist to support Neuro, CVOR, Ophthalmology, Difficult Airway, or Transplant cases. Must be able to take call, including weekends, and operate within stringent safety and regulatory standards.

The role involves preparing the sterile field, assisting the surgeon during procedures, and coordinating with OR staff to ensure patient care quality. A focus on ongoing education and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• 15 hours of mandatory ST education annually.
• Experience with CVOR, Ophthalmology, Neuro, or Transplant call is preferred.
• Knowledge of Heart Lung Machine and cardiovascular cannulation concepts for CVOR procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the Operating Room for cases by opening sterile supplies, setting up the back table, and arranging instruments according to case type and surgeon’s preference card.
• Assists the surgical team during operative procedures and maintains correct surgical counts; handles specimens and medications under RN direction.
• Maintains sterile field and adheres to safety and policy standards; ensures safe working conditions.
