Job summary

Central City Concern in Portland, OR is seeking an on-call Subacute Detox Support Worker to assist nursing staff during the subacute detoxification process. The role includes monitoring patients, taking vitals, aiding admissions, and providing program orientation.

This on-site, part-time position requires CPR/First Aid, basic computer skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Shifts include mornings, evenings, and nights.

Qualifications

• HSD/GED and 1 year of related field experience (e.g. shelter, residential or day treatment)
• HSD/GED and 2 years of in-person, high-volume customer service or 2 years volunteer experience in related field
• Associate’s degree in Social Services, Behavioral Health, Human Services, Psychology, or related field
• Bachelor’s degree in any field

Responsibilities

• Provide support in maintaining a calm, quiet and orderly subacute environment.
• Attend RN shift report when requested and relay information to on-coming staff.
• Assist RN by taking patient’s vital signs as requested and document per procedure.
• Assist with admissions process to facilitate efficient patient flow.
• Inventory, wash, sort, store and distribute patient clothing.
• Follow privacy regulations and CCC policies.
