Job summary

A nonprofit agency in Portland is seeking a dedicated support staff member to assist nursing personnel in caring for patients during subacute detoxification. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with experience in related fields or customer service. Qualifications

• Experience in shelter, residential, or substance abuse treatment.
• Current CPR certification prior to start.
• Mental and physical ability to perform assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide support in maintaining a calm, orderly subacute environment.
• Assist RN by taking patient vital signs as requested.
• Chart on patients at least once per shift.

Skills

Knowledge of de-escalation methods

Basic knowledge of substance use disorders

Bilingual (Spanish, Russian)

Education

HSD/GED

Associate's degree in Social Services or related field
