Job summary

Meals On Wheels People, Inc. is seeking an on-call Site Coordinator to oversee congregate meal service and volunteer coordination at our Portland area centers. You will manage meal preparation, ensure safety standards, and support hunger-relief efforts with diverse community partners.

The role requires a high school diploma, food-handling certification, and strong teamwork and communication skills. Four-day workweeks are highlighted as part of our flexible schedule and our strong benefits

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate Degree or certification in Culinary Arts preferred.
• Current Food Handler's card and CPR certified or ability to obtain one upon hire.
• Minimum 1 year experience in food service; volume and scratch cooking experience preferred.
• Bilingual languages (English/Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Asian or African languages) strongly preferred; bilingual pay differential may apply.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe and efficient preparation of senior dining services following procedures and health regulations.
• Manage meal preparation, including scratch cooking and ethnic meals for Meals on Wheels program.
• Maintain adequate levels of food and non-food items; ensure products are safe, stored properly.
• Recruit, train and supervise kitchen and dining room volunteers.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards; participate in trainings and required meetings.
• Support site manager with hunger relief services and partnerships; engage in agency events.
