Job summary

Lone Oak - Eugene is seeking a Cook to join our senior living community. You will prep, cook, and maintain meals under the Dining Services Director, ensuring nutrition, presentation, and a welcoming atmosphere for elders and families.

You’ll help orient new staff, schedule, and maintain a clean, safe kitchen while following infection control standards. On-site, full-time/part-time on-call roles available.

Qualifications

• Formally trained in the culinary arts or have equivalent experience.
• Ability to work well in a team and learn quickly.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
• Food handlers permit or ability to obtain one as required by state regulations.
• Good verbal communication in English with residents and coworkers.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Prep and prepare meals under guidance of the Dining Services Director.
• Ensure meals are nutritionally sound, appetizing, and attractively presented.
• Help orient new team members and assist with scheduling.
• Greet elders, families, visitors, and team members in a friendly environment.
• Maintain equipment and keep work areas clean, safe, and orderly.
• Adhere to infection control and foodborne illness prevention procedures.
