Job summary

Casa Esperanza Inc. in Boston is seeking an On-Call Round Cook to cover holidays, vacations, and unexpected call-outs.

This per diem role typically runs 6am–2pm and requires weekly availability across Sundays to Saturdays, including holidays, for meal service to about 75 residents. You will plan and prepare three healthy meals daily, supervise safe kitchen operations, coordinate food and supplies, and maintain records.

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing meals for 75+ guests per meal.
• SERV Safe certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Experience preparing Latin American cuisine is required.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Participates in regular training regarding nutrition and healthy meal preparation.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of foods.
• Knowledge of food prep methods, techniques, and quality standards.
• Organize and coordinate purchase of food, supplies, and equipment for 3 meals per day for up to 75 individuals.
• Safely use all kitchen equipment and supplies.
• Receive goods and supplies.
• Gather data, compile information, prepare reports, and maintain records.
• Manage others in a kitchen environment to ensure safety and quality meals.
