Job summary

Washington State Department of Corrections is seeking an on-call Registered Nurse for Stafford Creek Corrections Center in Aberdeen, WA. The role requires WA RN licensure or a valid multistate license with NLC and required trainings.

A minimum of one year RN experience and CPR training are expected. The RN will provide nursing services to incarcerated individuals, work with electronic health records, and operate with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• Initial and continuous licensure as a Registered Nurse in Washington state.
• Unencumbered multistate license with Nurse Licensure Compact and completion of Suicide Prevention, EDIR training, MLS survey.
• One year RN experience.
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR training.
• Proficient with computer-based programs to schedule, monitor and track patient information, and to email.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Delivers nursing services to promote health and healing for incarcerated individuals.
• Screens, assesses, and evaluates patient conditions.
• Responds to health care requests in a timely and clinically appropriate manner.
• Delegates, supervises, coordinates and delivers health care.
• Plans transitions and makes referrals on discharge or transfer.
• Assists patients to improve self-care and family care.
• Counsels, consults, teaches, and provides health information to improve care quality.
