Job summary

Highland Property Management, Inc. is seeking an Apartment Maintenance Technician to perform hands-on maintenance, basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and custodial tasks across our LIHTC properties. You will manage work orders, proactively maintain properties, and may join on-call rotations.

A clean background and drug test are required. Candidates should have 2–5 years of apartment maintenance experience, be adept with outside contractors, and able to estimate repair time.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of apartment maintenance experience or equivalent.
• Carpentry: Remodel and repair work.
• Plumbing
• Household electrical
• Exterior building maintenance
• Custodial work for units to be move-in ready
• Implement an appropriate preventative maintenance (PM) schedule
• 5 years of direct customer service experience with residential or other clients
• 2 years of experience working with outside contractors to ensure remodel and/or warranty work is performed to expectations.
• Ability to estimate time and extent of repairs
• Organizational skills for maintaining material and supply inventories
• Professionalism with coworkers and residents while working in and around apartment complex
• Strict adherence to confidentiality policies according to resident's rights regulations and courtesy
• Computer skills for completing and recording work order information
• Other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

• This position performs hands-on maintenance work and light construction tasks.
• Manages work orders and ensures properties are pro-actively maintained.
• Must be available for on-call schedule.
• Requires a clean background and drug test.
