Job summary

Catholic Community Services of Western Washington seeks a Resident Coordinator for Drexel House, a housing program with a 86-unit complex and a 16-bed emergency shelter. The role provides 24-hour on-site monitoring supervised by the Housing Manager to ensure resident satisfaction.

The coordinator staffs the front desk, enforces policies, conducts safety checks, and oversees laundry, transportation, and resident services while coordinating with case managers and volunteers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Experience in social services is desirable; personal experience and understanding of homeless population may be substituted.
• Ability to work effectively with clients displaying a wide range of behaviors and diverse populations.
• Willingness to make sound judgments without onsite supervision.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance.
• Pass required background checks prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Staff the front desk, answer phones, authorize access, and monitor security.
• Monitor and enforce program policies with residents, clients, and visitors.
• Conduct safety and perimeter checks of entrances and grounds.
• Maintain facility upkeep including laundering of sheets, towels, and blankets.
• Inform appropriate personnel of problems with appliances, plumbing, heating and electrical systems.
• Maintain order and communicate/enforce rules and policies.
• Log in/out residents, clients and visitors; maintain nightly shelter bed list.
• Record significant occurrences professionally in the logbook.
• Assist with wakeups and morning cleanup for the shelter.
• Coordinate transportation needs for residents with Case Manager and Housing Manager schedules.
• Provide resident services and information; deliver messages and packages.
• Support and supervise volunteers and interns; provide back-up coverage as needed.
• Work to develop a positive, team-oriented work environment.
