Job summary

The Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking an on-call Registered Nurse 2 for the Walla Walla Veterans Home. Deliver skilled, compassionate care to veterans and oversee nursing assistants in your section.

As an RN2, you will supervise NACs, coordinate care with physicians and other professionals, and ensure accurate documentation, medication administration, and adherence to policies.

Qualifications

• Current Washington state registered nurse license.
• Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Proficient in English language (reading/writing/speaking).
• Agency-required competencies: learn/grow & meet the needs of others.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise nursing personnel in the assigned area.
• Coordinate staff assignments and communicate resident status and needs.
• Plan, oversee, and evaluate nursing work and care plans.
• Provide on-the-job training to newly hired staff.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications and ensure proper documentation.
