Job summary

Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) seeks an on-call Registered Nurse 2 for the Walla Walla Veterans Home. You will oversee NACs, supervise care, and ensure high standards of daily living support for veterans and their spouses in a respectful, compassionate environment.

The role requires current WA RN licensure, nursing school graduation, and strong English skills. Eligibility for the Supplemental Basic Shift Premium applies; on-call shifts may be scheduled rotationally and

Qualifications

Current Washington state RN license.
Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Proficient in English reading, writing and speaking.
Agency required competencies: willingness to learn and meet others' needs.

Responsibilities

Direct and supervise nursing personnel in the assigned area.
Coordinate staff assignments and communicate resident status and care needs.
Plan, oversee, and evaluate work; provide on-the-job training.
Assist physicians with examinations, techniques, and procedures.
Examine residents to assess medical needs; administer medications as ordered.
Oversee medication administration and ensure proper documentation.
Coordinate care discussions between physicians, social workers, psychologists, RN3s, and NACs.
