Job summary

State of Washington’s Special Commitment Center (SCC) seeks a Registered Nurse 2 for on-call, on-site work with opportunities for shift premiums.

You will transcribe orders, manage medication refills, educate residents, and support care plans for individuals with cognitive disabilities, aiming to maintain health and dignity. Evening/night differential applies; travel between island facilities may occur.

Qualifications

Valid Washington RN license or ability to obtain by start of employment.
Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
Ability to work on-call shifts including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

Transcribe and verify orders
Order medications refills and renewals
Inform Providers and Nurse Manager of developments or changes in residents’ health status
Educate residents on health conditions, medication management, and treatment plans
Maintain optimal facility operations
Prepare and maintain medication carts
Provide patient care to aging facility population
Provide treatment and nursing care for residents with mental illnesses or developmental disabilities
Assist in developing and managing Individual rehabilitation plans
Implement care plans, administer medications and assist with treatments/exams
Respond to medical calls and emergencies
Other duties as assigned by providers, RN3, and RN4
Must be up to date on nursing skills such as IV starts, IV fluids, labs and phlebotomy
