Job summary

South Middlesex Opportunity Council (SMOC) is seeking a Program Advocate, Relief to provide a safe, caring and efficient environment in our residential programs. This on-call role has no regular hours and covers for staff absences as needed.

As front desk lead, you will greet visitors, complete intake forms, supervise dorms, and help maintain logbooks, ensuring safety and compliance. A strong customer-service approach and crisis-awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certified preferred.
• Ability to work independently and respond in crisis situations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; bilingual ability desired.

Responsibilities

• Working at the Front Desk as the point of first contact for all guests and visitors.
• Maintain logs and files for each shift.
• Initiate intake procedures with new clients, including intake forms.
• Ensure security of the premises and communicate information to staff.
• Enter intake information into the computer system when required.
• Ensure compliance with program/policy requirements and funder guidelines.
• Supervise the dorms and maintain safety for all clients.
• Light cleaning as needed.
• Attend team meetings and communicate effectively with clients and staff.
