YMCA of the East Bay is seeking an on-call Early Childhood Teacher for the Winters location. The role supports Head Start educational services, creating inclusive, high-quality care aligned with California requirements and the Creative Curriculum. You will partner with families to promote growth and learning outcomes.

The position emphasizes curriculum development, family engagement, health and safety compliance, and ongoing professional development in a dynamic Early Childhood program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Head Start AA degree or above preferred
• Current Child Development permit at Associate Teacher level or above
• 12+ semester units in Early Childhood Education, for Early Head Start
• Bilingual/multilingual preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement curriculum goals aligned with state and Head Start standards.
• Plan and facilitate activities that meet goals for individuals and groups.
• Supervise and monitor children at all times.
• Interact with children using intentional, responsive verbal and non-verbal strategies.
• Document each child's progress in the online system with notes and samples.
• Conduct two home visits and two parent/teacher conferences per child annually.
• Create and maintain stimulating, organized learning environments reflecting cultural diversity.
• Develop relationships with families to support children's growth.
• Carry out Health and Safety requirements per licensing and Head Start rules.
• Maintain attendance and daily records; attend staff meetings and trainings.
