Job summary

YMCA of the East Bay seeks an Infant/Toddler Teacher for the Early Childhood Impact program in Emeryville/Berkeley. The role emphasizes developmentally appropriate teaching, collaborative planning, and strong family engagement in a Head Start setting.

You will use the Creative Curriculum, conduct home visits, and monitor child progress while maintaining health and safety standards in a on-site setting. Requires relevant permits and units.

Qualifications

• Head Start requirements: AA degree or higher.
• 12+ ECE units; infant/toddler units with C or better.
• Current Child Development permit at Associate Teacher level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement curriculum goals aligned with Creative Curriculum and Head Start.
• Plan activities for individuals and groups; supervise and guide children.
• Document child progress with observations and work samples.
• Conduct home visits and parent/teacher conferences.
• Maintain safe, engaging classroom and outdoor spaces.
• Build partnerships with families to support growth and development.
• Adhere to Health, Safety, and licensing regulations.
