Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Prep Cook (On-call) in Honolulu to prepare all food items for the Restaurants, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria and Banquets. You will follow standardized recipes, maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation and safety in the kitchen, and help minimize waste while maximizing cost efficiency.

This on-call role requires flexibility, the ability to stand for long periods, and proficiency with basic cooking techniques.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or hotel-related experience preferred.
• Culinary experience required.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stand during entire shift and withstand temperature variations.
• Knowledge of hotel food preparation standards and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas.
• Prepare and display buffet items according to hotel standards.
• Assist in food preparation for Restaurants, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria and Banquets.
• Ensure proper handling, storage and sanitation of ingredients.
• Support any kitchen station as needed and help with banquet service.
• Follow health department regulations and hotel safety procedures.
