Job summary

Highgate is seeking a Prep Cook (On-call) for AC Honolulu F&B in Honolulu, Hawaii. The role prepares all food items from standardized recipes for Restaurants, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria and Banquets, while maintaining cleanliness, sanitation and food safety in the kitchen.

The candidate will follow hotel recipes, assist in multiple kitchen stations, support banquet events, and uphold cost/production standards. Flexibility for long hours and physical stamina are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Culinary experience required.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas.
• Complete necessary food and station preparation prior to opening to serve guests promptly.
• Prepare and display buffet food items according to hotel standards.
• Recognize quality standards in vegetables, fish, dairy and meat products.
• Maintain a sanitary kitchen environment and proper handling practices.
• Prepare food for Banquets following Banquet Event Orders.
• Prepare and service food for Employee Cafeteria as directed by Chef.
• Follow hotel standard recipes and assist in other kitchen positions as needed.
• Breakdown buffets, store food and equipment properly after service.
• Work banquet food stations as scheduled by kitchen leadership.
• Know location and operation of fire extinguishing equipment.
• Practice safe work habits to prevent injuries.
• Follow Health Department and Company regulations on storage and safety.
