Job summary

State of Washington, Department of Corrections Health Services Division, is seeking a Physician 3 On-Call position at Monroe Correctional Complex in Monroe, WA. The role is onsite with a team‑based approach to care for incarcerated patients.

Clinical duties include direct patient care, supervision of midlevel providers, collaboration with the Facility Medical Director, and management of complex health conditions, including Hepatitis C and OUD management.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Washington State.
• Unrestricted DEA license with waiver to prescribe buprenorphine for opioid use disorder.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire.
• Experience supervising and/or directing health care delivery operations.
• Board certification in Internal Medicine preferred, or board eligibility with certification within 24 months.
• Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Washington State.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to incarcerated individuals.
• Supervise ARNPs and PAs and oversee midlevel providers.
• Collaborate with Facility Medical Director to plan care delivery and ensure continuity.
• Maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively with patients and staff.
• Provide care for Hepatitis C patients and OUD/Suboxone treatment as needed.
• Manage on-call duties and clinical decision-making across MCC Monroe.
