Job summary

HAN Staff is seeking a Medical Assistant in Monroe, Washington to join a correctional healthcare team. The position offers local pay at $36.50 per hour (W2). The MA will support patient exams, document vital signs, and educate patients on treatments and follow-up care.

Shifts are 12-hour, with benefits including health/dental/vision, 401(k), and travel stipends for qualified candidates. Washington licensure and 1+ year MA experience are required.

Qualifications

• Current, valid Washington license/certification in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year of MA experience within the last 3 years.
• PSV copy from licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of current required certifications (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test).

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Obtain and document patient vital signs and histories.
• Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Perform basic clinical tasks such as specimen collection, injections, wound care, and medication administration as allowed.
• Schedule appointments and maintain patient records.
• Educate patients on medications, treatments, and follow-up care.
• Ensure examination rooms and equipment are clean, stocked, and organized.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation.
• Follow infection control and safety protocols.

Shift Details:

Medical Assistant Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist physicians and healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and other clinical information.
• Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and diagnostic procedures.
• Perform basic clinical tasks such as specimen collection, injections, wound care, and medication administration as permitted by state regulations.
• Schedule appointments, maintain patient records, and perform other administrative duties as needed.
• Educate patients on medications, treatments, and follow-up care instructions.
• Ensure examination rooms, equipment, and supplies are clean, organized, and properly stocked.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Follow infection control practices, safety protocols, and facility policies.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted Washington license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a MA within the last 3 years.
• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., . BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test,...).
