Job summary

MultiCare Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma, WA, is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform patient analytic laboratory testing, quality control, data analysis, results reporting, instrument maintenance and technical problem resolution.

This position requires a service-committed individual, who is detail oriented and can perform complex data analysis, exercise sound, independent judgment and demonstrate critical thinking skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Sciences is required.
• Master’s degree in Medical Technology is preferred.
• Certification for Medical Technologist, MLS (ASCP), MT (ASCP), AMT or MT (AAB) is required.
• Specialist Certification in discipline is preferred.
• Specialist Certifications in discipline (e.g., SH/SM/SBB/SC) are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens and establish positive identification of specimens.
• Determine suitability of specimens.
• Acquire/prepare reagents as needed.
• Perform instrument maintenance and calibration.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Sciences

Master’s degree in Medical Technology

Certification MLS/MT (ASCP) or AMT or MT (AAB)

Specialist Certification in discipline (preferred)

Specialist Hematology SH (ASCP), Microbiology SM (ASCP), Specialist BldBnking SBB (ASCP), Tech Chemistry SC (ASCP)
