Job summary

MultiCare Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma, WA, seeks a Medical Technologist for an on-call, part-time role with day shifts and rotating weekends. The MT will perform patient laboratory testing, quality control, data analysis, and reporting while maintaining instruments and troubleshooting technical issues.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Medical Technology or Sciences with MT/MLS certification (ASCP/AMT) and may have a Master’s degree or Specialist certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Sciences (required).
• Master’s degree in Medical Technology (preferred).
• Certification for Medical Technologist (MLS/ASCP, MT/ASCP) or AMT or MT (AAB) (required).
• Specialist Certification in discipline (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens and establish positive identification of specimens.
• Determine suitability of specimen for analysis.
• Acquire/prepare reagents as needed.
• Perform instrument maintenance and calibration.

However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
