Job summary
MultiCare’s Tacoma General Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform patient analytic laboratory testing, quality control, data analysis, and instrument maintenance with strong attention to detail and independent judgment. Responsibilities include receiving specimens, ensuring proper identification, assessing specimen suitability, preparing reagents, and calibration of instruments.
A Bachelor’s in Medical Technology or Sciences is required; Master’s preferred and ASCP certifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Sciences required.
- Master's degree in Medical Technology preferred.
- Certification for Medical Technologist MLS/MT/AMT or MT (AAB) required or preferred.
- Specialist Certification in discipline preferred; SH/ASCP, SM/ASCP, SBB/ASCP, SC/ASCP listed.
Responsibilities
- Receive specimens and establish and maintain positive identification of specimens.
- Determine suitability of specimen.
- Acquire/prepare reagents as needed; perform instrument maintenance and calibration.
