Job summary

MultiCare Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to perform diagnostic testing, quality control, data analysis and troubleshooting during the night shift. You will receive specimens, ensure proper identification, determine specimen suitability, prepare reagents and maintain instruments for accurate results.

Requirements include an Associate degree, MLT (ASCP) CM or equivalent certification, MA-Phlebotomist certification or eligibility, and at least one year

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• MLT (ASCP) CM certification required (or MLT (ASCP) 50 week military program in lieu of associate’s degree).
• Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist Certification or eligibility (if phlebotomy duties will be performed).
• Minimum one year of laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens and establish positive identification.
• Determine suitability of specimens and reject if needed.
• Acquire/prepare reagents as needed.
• Perform instrument maintenance and calibration.
