Job summary

EMBREY is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our Cooper's Row property in San Antonio, TX. The role supports maintenance operations, assists the Maintenance Supervisor, and helps ensure safe, attractive, well‑functioning buildings and amenities for residents and staff.

Qualifications include at least one year of maintenance experience in property management, a valid driver’s license, and on-call availability. The position is hourly and full-time with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• One year of maintenance experience in property management or related field.
• Possession of minimum tools required.
• Ability to be available on call 24 hours, seven days a week.
• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Adhere strictly to the requirements of the Safety Manual.
• Assist in implementing preventative maintenance, safety, and good housekeeping practices.
• Inspect and maintain the property, buildings, and equipment in an attractive, clean, and safe condition at all times in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Assist in organizing, prioritizing, and completing unit make-readies, service requests, and general maintenance tasks according to company standards in a timely manner.
• Assist in ensuring that the grounds, buildings, and units are fully functional, safe, and attractive. Inspect grounds, buildings, and units on a regular basis.
• Perform minor repairs on appliances, floors, walls, cabinets, doors, and fixtures in units.
• Follow all safety procedures, including wearing safety and protective clothing.
• Assist in maintaining inventories of supplies, tools, and equipment needed for maintenance and repairs.
• Assist with minor resident maintenance requests.
• Perform other property-related tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Community Manager in the operation of the property.
• Maintain all maintenance responsibilities as assigned.
• Complete other tasks and/or projects as needed.
• Respond to requests in a timely manner.
• Clean grounds at the exterior of the office and pool area according to company standards daily.
• Periodically conduct an inventory of supplies.
• Ensure move-out documentation is approved and signed.
• Report any safety hazards found and correct them on a timely basis.
