Job summary

SMC is seeking a Service Technician to perform quality maintenance across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related systems at our Bethesda community. The role emphasizes hands-on diagnostics, timely repairs, and strict adherence to safety and quality controls.

You will handle service requests, keep precise records, manage supplies, and participate in an on-call rotation. A strong focus on customer service and teamwork helps ensure resident satisfaction and asset integrity.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in maintenance related field
• Successful completion of Basic Electric class offered at SMC internal training facility
• Successful completion of all other basic maintenance classes offered internally and all on-the-job training within one year of hire date

Responsibilities

• Address, follow up and document service requests.
• Maintain an inventory of adequate supplies.
• Perform preventive maintenance on fan coil and convector HVAC unit.
• Complete additional preventive maintenance inspections as scheduled.
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.
• Make repairs to grounds and drainage.
• Ensure all work and documentation comply with internal quality control standards.
• Maintain personal supply of tools as designated by SMC's Tool Checklist.
• Address emergency maintenance as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
• Contribute to community and company engagement efforts.
