Job summary

Valiant Residential is seeking an Assistant Maintenance who will support the maintenance supervisor and help uphold the physical integrity of the property. You will work with the leasing team to maximize renewals and leasing opportunities, prioritizing safety and adherence to Valiant Residential policies.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of full-time maintenance experience or a related trade with basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and HVAC knowledge.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
• EPA certification for refrigerants is required/advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests within 24 hours.
• Schedule on-call rotation and assist with service as needed.
• Follow company policies and comply with ADA, Fair Housing, OSHA, and related laws.
• Distribute flyers and materials as directed.
• Maintain safety materials and address unsafe conditions on property.
• Keep records of preventive maintenance, service requests, and make-ready status of vacants.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and ensure tools are in good condition.
• Diagnose and perform minor maintenance across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, lighting, doors, and related systems.
• Handle on-call duties and standby emergency coverage as required.
• Assist property manager with inspections and other duties as assigned.
