Job summary

Bonneville International is seeking a Fill In (On call) Journalist to assist our Seattle-based newsroom with anchoring, editing, writing, and reporting for broadcast and digital spaces. The role requires strong news judgment, the ability to work independently under deadline pressure, and collaboration with talk show teams.

The position is onsite at our Seattle site with flexibility in scheduling, including early morning to evening backup coverage.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in journalism or related field preferred.
• Three plus years in news editing/producing, anchoring, and reporting preferred.
• Ability to write compelling newscasts and reports for broadcast and online spaces.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate and engaging news content for over-the-air and online.
• Write brief, factual, and compelling newscasts, updates, and traffic reports and deliver them live on air.
• Record, edit, and mix audio to meet deadlines.
• Identify and secure interviews with guests and newsmakers; build a robust network of sources.
• Maintain proficiency with studio and multimedia broadcasting systems.
