Job summary

Planned Companies Building Services (PBS) in San Francisco and Oakland invites applications for an on-call Janitor/Custodian to ensure clean, healthy properties. The role covers common areas, bathrooms, and window washing with a focus on safety and tenant satisfaction.

Ideal candidates lift up to 50 lbs, can stand long hours, work well in teams or alone, and hold a HS diploma or equivalent. PBS offers health and retirement benefits along with a clear on-call schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift 50 pounds.
• Experience using cleaning products and equipment.
• Ability to work well both in a team and independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors of various types.
• Stripping, buffing and waxing floors of various types as well.
• Dusting ceilings, light fittings, countertops, and loose furniture.
• Scrubbing and sanitizing bathroom toilets, sinks, and kitchen fixtures.
• Emptying trash cans as well as washing and drying windows.
• Requesting cleaning supply orders, reporting breakages and needed repairs.
• Assisting building management with all projects and all other job duties as requested.
