Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of experience in Commercial, Industrial or Hospital Maintenance or completion of the Ochsner Apprenticeship program.
• Trade school or company school preferred.
• Experience with hand and power tools; familiar with plumbing, electrical, HVAC-R and carpentry.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Performs general inspections, troubleshooting and repairs of minor electrical, mechanical, and plumbing items within the hospital or clinic.
• Follows up on completed assignments ensuring equipment is working appropriately.
• Responds to and repairs specialty systems (nurse call, fire alarm, TV, medical gas, ceilings).
• Completes preventive maintenance inspections and maintains documentation.
• Assists with maintenance on associated equipment within assigned areas.
• Performs other related duties and on-call emergencies as needed.
